Nolan’s Story

Site created on October 31, 2023

On Saturday morning, October 28th, our three-year-old Nolan Ryan started having severe abdominal cramping, difficulty breathing, and went into septic shock at the hospital. He stabilized with IV fluids and a general antibiotic. Tests showed he was spilling bilirubin and there was a spike in his AST liver enzyme.

We transported to another hospital with more specialized pediatric care and underwent blood cultures and further tests. His procalcitonin test came back showing an extremely high level of infection. A level of 0.5 is considered high. His level is currently 12. That’s not a typo. Twelve.

We ask for your prayers, positive thoughts, good vibes, whatever you’re comfortable sharing. We have faith in our sovereign Creator God and His healing power. I’ll share more updates as they come available.

Journal entry by Jonathan Cook

We finally received the official sign-off that Nolan’s body is recovered from hemoglobinuria. His lab draw today showed his hemoglobin is at 13.3, well within the normal, healthy range, and his retic panel is 0.9%, which is also excellent and normal. This is already an incredible holiday season, and we are ready for the new year to be full of great memories, full health, and zero hospital visits. 🙏 Thank you for your continued prayers and support.
