Journal entry by Gina Thompson

I am in desperate need for prayers...please!

I don’t even know where to start.  I am writing this with my heart breaking and tears falling down my face!!

I took Noah in to see his pediatrician two days ago because he was not acting himself.  A mother’s gut always knows.   They did a bunch of blood test and upon the results I was told to take him to the children’s hospital in Orlando for further testing.  They admitted him and ran many tests and even ran the same blood test twice for confirmation and he was diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).  He will have a transfusion today along with platelets and hydration...to prepare him for his bone marrow biopsy and first dose of chemo tomorrow.  He will be in the hospital for a while until they see that the chemo is making progress on the cells. Once that happens we can head home and do outpatient chemo treatments.

We have a very long road ahead of us and 2 years of straight chemo treatments that Noah will have to fight through. My heart just breaks thinking of this.  My son is the most loving and kindest soul you will ever meet and I can’t even think of him going through this.

I’m so overwhelmed with emotion and my heart is breaking for the road that’s ahead of him. I am asking for prayers and positive thoughts for my boy, please.
