Journal entry by Amanda Welch

It feels as though we have been simultaneously swamped and nothing to really do. Noah is healing well. He is off all narcotics and muscle relaxers. He is still dealing with a great deal of discomfort but worlds apart from a week ago. He is starting to be more independent with his day to day care. I’ve been thankful for some time away from work because while Noah rests I have been able to catch up on house and yard work. I might be working harder than when I was pulling 60+ hour work weeks prior to his surgery. We did have a post-op appointment last Thursday. The bandages are off and Noah can now shower independently which is a huge blessing. He can start to do some minor bending and can lift up to a gallon of milk. We are trying to walk daily and doing arm exercises. Noah will not be able to return to school this year so we will continue with remote learning. He is also still off of work for at least the next 4 weeks if not more. There is still a long road but we are so thankful to God for all of the love, support and prayers. Noah gets tuckered out fast but has enjoyed seeing more visitors. So thank you to those who have stopped by. Expenses keep rolling in, but we have seen provisions in that area as well. I hope everyone had a blessed Mothers Day. Much love!!!
