Sorry I haven't updated in a hot minute. We are 9 weeks out from Nik's injury today. To see where he is right now is a miracle. We have been home since September 26th - we are still trying to navigate what out new normal is. Nik is able to to OT/PT here in Cavalier and has a speech therapist from Craig Hospital working with him via telehealth. I bring him to my 2nd home - McCurdy Health and Wellness almost every day to do his home exercise program. He complains - which is fine I just turn up my music and pretend he is saying how much he LOVES working out with me 😆 I have been able to start working from home and try to get a couple hours in daily. He does a lot of household chores right now - this IS part of his therapy requirements from Craig in Colorado. We see his neurosurgeon tomorrow, and have a speech appointment. Some days are much busier than others. Some days are much easier than others. If you didn't know he had a brain injury and don't work in that field or aren't super close with Nik you may not notice his defecits. This is amazing- but can also cause some issues as well because he looks so good on the surface. It's so great being from our little community- we are feeling the love for sure! The fire department is having a benefit for us on Saturday - I hope we can see you and tell all of you thank you in person- but if not please know we are so grateful for all of you.
