I have been diagnosed with breast cancer. At this point in time, it has been a whirlwind of a week. Sunday, January 13 2019 I found a lump. Monday, I got into my gyno's office and went to do an ultra sound, mammogram, ultra sound biopsy, and then another mammogram. On Wednesday, I got the call that it was not good news. The cancer I have is poorly differentiated invasive carcinoma of no special type (later found out it is triple negative breast cancer). Today I gave blood work to get genetic testing that will help make future decisions. Next week I will have more updates after we meet with an oncologist and a breast specialist surgeon. I am working to process this all myself so know that I appreciate everyone's calls, texts, emails, messages. I am not at this time able to respond in a timely manner but please know that I appreciate it all. One last thing, I am already a survivor of so much, cancer is just going to be added to that list. I will get through this and I will not be afraid. We are still planning on celebrating graduation in May and a beautiful wedding in July. Stay tuned to more information!

January 2020- my breast cancer has spread to my lungs. I am now stage 4. I have started chemo and immunotherapy and will continue with treatments as long as I can. I am hopeful that I can live with this disease for a long time coming.
July 2020- my breast cancer has spread to my brain. I completed 7 additional rounds of targeted radiation and will continue with immunotherapy moving forward.
