Nicole’s Story

Site created on November 7, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place to make sure we get news out as soon as we can while still managing the day to day tasks.   I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on October 31, 2019 after a tumor blocked my bile duct and I got jaundice.   . We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Nicole Nelson

Happy Mid-winter freeze:

A quick update—had my now quarterly scan last week with results from DJ late this week.  Good news:  All is clear on the cancer front scan wise and my blood markers are still low.  Slightly less good news: My right lung really did not appreciate radiation and is now really inflamed making me a little extra tired and have a really good excuse for why I’ve run less recently!  Better news: The treatment for pneumtis is short term steroids so I’ve been bright eyed and bushy-tailed since Friday.  I’ll only have two weeks of diminishing performance enhancing drugs but I’m hoping to get Max’s grad party planned by then!

Hope all is well with everyone wherever you are.  I miss seeing the smiling faces of those I don’t get to see anymore but I do still think of you all (especially when I wear your socks 😀)

Much love!!
