Journal entry by Nicole Ettessoc —
I haven’t posted an update in some time, and I have updates, so here they are. Last week I was hospitalized for neutropenic fever, and my counts were dangerously low. It was a long week filled with a few transfusions- some of which seemed not to take and platelets. My doctor was the attending doctor while I was inpatient, which was great. However, what isn’t good is since chemo is accumulative, my body is taking each round harder and harder. That leads us to its a toss-up to what’s safer, continue chemo until all 14 rounds are done or end chemo a bit early since chemo can kill me or cause more damage than good at this point. All of the research is based on 14 rounds, so it’s a hard decision to make, but at this point, it is whatever is safest for my body. My next chemo is September 14, and I’m hoping to make it to at least 12 rounds of chemo. I’m currently at 9, so it isn’t that far off.
