I will leave you all with this…

Simple Man-Simply My Everything

I grew up listening to my Uncle Bob and his friends, The Pigs Eye Trio, singing the song “Simple Man.” I knew at a young age that was what I wanted and destined to have.

Nick was it…my simple man and literally my everything. A simple life was important to Nick. To love all people, to help those who need it but won’t ask for help. To teach our girls a simple satisfying life.

Nick adores our girls and their bond was always unbreakable. He was and always will be so proud of our babies. He lit up watching each of them grow and become their own person. I believe Nick’s proudest moments and his most cherished memories were teaching our girls the way of the farm. He has instilled so many wonderful qualities that our girls will continue to carry on. Humble. Kind. Hard working and a helper…a lover of Jesus. Nick would not be happy with all this fuss and crying about him..and his Kibble family and farmers should probably be working and preparing for harvest. Only kidding…but Nick wouldn’t be.

Nick lived in the moment and took it all in. If you were a friend of Nick, he would love you forever and be your biggest cheerleader.

Nick lived within his means and never wished for more. What we had was always enough. He fought and provided for our family always. Nick was satisfied with life and he lived it so well.

But for me, Nick was far from simple.

He was simply humble.

Simply kind.

And simply loved us all so well.

Nick was and always will be simply my everything forever and ever!

Nick and I would love to give you some words of encouragement and wisdom for this life. Life is so sweet and so incredibly short. Time is not in any of our favor, so love your people fiercely. Take that vacation. Live your life well…

Before Nick passed he told me, “Just because I’m dying doesn’t mean you get to just quit life. The world still needs you! So love and live each day to the fullest.” And that is what I intend to do!

Rest easy, Nick. Hug our baby boys. Teach them to fish and hunt. Play fetch with Cash. I will be sure to carry on your legacy. Save me seat up there.

Nicholas Gene Bartelt, you will forever be my everything.
