Nelson’s Story

Site created on June 13, 2022

Two things almost always pop into people's mind when they talk about Nelson Bobbitt. The first is skateboarding (obviously). The second is how sweet and kind this human is. Nelson suffered a traumatic accident on Thursday, June 9. With the help of first responders, doctors and nurses, he's fought hard to survive, and is beginning to slowly heal. He still has a long way to go, so send him your positive energy, good vibes, prayers, or whatever is your preferred method of healing enhancement and support. All is needed. Nelson is the badass son of Joe Bobbitt and Meredith Beavans, who get assists from his stepmother Alissa and stepfather Ryan.

Journal entry by Meredith Beavans

Last week Nelson bid farewell to his home tutor. He celebrated the end of his solo learning and upcoming return to school by gathering for dinner with his friends! The support from his friends got him through some tough feelings of seclusion. We’re so grateful he’s able to join them now at school. He started back today! He was hungry and low energy at pick up, but felt great physically:) He’ll continue with physical therapy sessions and follow up doctor appointments after school as best we can. I’ll post an update in a few weeks post surgery. Thank you and big hugs to you♥️
