Nathan’s Story

Site created on January 10, 2023

Thank you for joining us in praying for Nathan's recovery. At the end of December Nathan fell asleep at the wheel and was involved in a serious car accident. He suffered a severe brain injury and internal bleeding. He is currently in the ICU and is unresponsive. We believe in the power of prayer and the power of community. Thank you for being a community of support and encouragement during this difficult time for the Todd family.

Update on Nathan 1-19-23

I’m sorry I haven’t been updating this site for you all, I’ll do better. Here is the one I just posted tonight…Nathan had a pretty good night last night but reacted to the vent a little. They had to bump his fentanyl up due to him getting worked up over it. So today they decided to keep him off the ventilator all together, they even took it out of his room, whoo hoo! He developed a rash on his upper body today (looks like a heat rash or sun poisoning) and they don’t know what it is from. He’s been on Benadryl today but it’s not really helping. This rash can be from him getting off of the fentanyl. He’s mostly been resting today with very little coughing. The plan over the next couple days is to keep getting down off of the fentanyl then start working on some of the other medication. Physical therapy finally came in today but can’t start working with him yet; however, gave us a lot of things we can be doing in the meantime with him. This is all a very slow process. Overall he’s doing better today as they were able to get him down some on the fentanyl. Our immediate prayer is that he continues to tolerate them backing down on these strong medications and that his white blood cell count continues to come down. That his rash goes away and that he continues to become more mobile with us working one different parts of his body. Thank you all again for your continuous prayers and support for Nathan and our whole family. God is good, all the time.
