Nathaniel’s Story

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your prayers and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

As you know, Nate was in a serious car accident yesterday, May 24th, 2018.  He was taken by aeromed to DeVos Children's Hospital where he is being treated. Nate has a broken hip and arm. More concerning, he has a Cervical 5 and 6 spine injury. This is near the top of his spine and puts him at risk for paralysis. His neck muscles, I am told, detached in many places. He underwent surgery last night to repair what they could. We are worried about a closed head injury because his little head took quite a blow, also.

Tuesday is the big day for Team Boersma.
The girls will ride a bus to school Tuesday morning for the FIRST time. They will start a new school in a new district.
By the time they are home Nathaniel should be there. He hasn't been home in nearly 3 months, you guys.
We can not wait to have the Boersma's all together in Middleville!

But not only them but also you .Cant imagine the agony that your family has suffered. But when doctors

My sister, Carmen Weigel, shared Nate's story with me.  Having two little boys of my own, this story has really tugged at my heart and brought me to tears.  I am praying boldly for you all.  Praying that Nate will make a full recovery and be able to do all the things little boys should do.  Praying for you as parents to have the strength to face each day and all of the unknowns that lie ahead.  May you continue to feel the prayers that surround you.
