Journal entry by Jami Riggenbach

It’s hard to imagine I haven’t posted in almost a year! 2020 has been quite interesting but Nathan has continued to progress and work extremely hard to find his new normal! Early in 2020 we celebrated spring break in Clearwater, Florida just before we were instructed to shelter in place. Then the pandemic hit and we found ourselves once again in unfamiliar territory. Nathan would stop going to outpatient Speech therapy but continued aggressive neurotherapy. By the summer he was driving, purchased a different car, and worked at Parkview Golf Course. He also returned to Dekalb for a Sigma Nu golf outing that his team took 🥇 first place. His goal was to find full-time work prior to his birthday on Halloween. In October he traveled with Jenna to California to stand beside a life-long friend getting married.  He started working full-time as a research assistant at Optimal Research in Peoria on October 19, 2020 and continues to amaze me on a daily basis. So very grateful he is alive and thriving in a way I had only hoped was possible. NLH= Nathan Laine Hays and also Never Lose Hope..... God is good all the time and all the time, God is good! #teamnate#gratefulmomma
