Nate’s Story

Site created on September 20, 2023

After having symptoms of dizziness, chest tightness and shortness of breath for several months Nate had a chest X-ray done on September 8th that showed a mass on his right lung. On September 18th he was officially diagnosed with primary mediastinal large b cell lymphoma. Thankfully imaging has shown it is just the one mass. This caring bridge will help keep family and friends updated through treatment.

Journal entry by Jenny Helms

I realized today that it was a month ago that Nate got his PICC line out that for me really marked the end of treatment. It's also been six months since Nate was diagnosed with lymphoma. Over the last month Nate and I have been enjoying life- work, regular couple things, etc. We are both okay with being boring! The picture is from a week ago when we took a little road trip that included a stop in Hastings. Nate has been doing a cardio rehab program for cancer patients and he is slowly increasing his time at work. He feels great and we remark often how thankful we are for this time. He says he will get on here eventually to write his own feelings! :)  The last six months have been difficult, but we have been blessed with so many family and friends. I know I couldn't have done it without everyone's support. Thank you!!
