Journal entry by Trey Vonder Haar —
Natasha has been home from the hospital for two weeks now! The time has flown by in comparison to three weeks ago! The change in her from pre-surgery to now is sometimes inconceivable! I often have to remind myself that even though she has the ability to move at close to 100% she still needs to take it easy as the brain and soft tissues heal. There is no reason to rush the bodies' natural healing process and risk any unnecessary injury. We went back to see the surgeon this week for a follow up consultation and staple removal. The staple removal was quick and painless, but the surgeon was unable to see us, as he was called to help another patient in an emergency surgery. An alternate doc asked and few questions, took a few notes and sent us on our way. No new news to report on that front.
We have truly savored the Meal Train experience! The food has all been great and the company has been even greater! The shared food, the plentiful laughs, and even a few tears, have all contributed to this healing process. Between Covid and some of life's other curve balls it has been far too long since we have tangoed in the social dance that heals our souls. We thank you all greatly for your contributions and look forward to sharing more laughs in the future!
