Natalie’s Story

Site created on August 20, 2021

we went to banff the first weekend in august, I think she started bruising on her lower arms then but we naively thought it was from climbing out of the pool. we came home monday night and by wednesday there seemed to be unexplained bruising showing up all over her body. I called for a phone appointment with the doctor on friday, i told her what was going on and she advised Natalie go for bloodwork. monday we went to the lab in three hills, and 1 1/2 hrs later our family doctor called and said the lab had called, Natalie's Platelets were below 10 so we headed to the children's hospital right away.

Natalie had blood work and another bone marrow aspirate on April 25th. Her blood work came back good (WBC- 3.2,  HGB-126, PLT- 130, ANC- 2200) which is always so wonderful to hear.  Dr Truong,  the Oncologist that's taking care of Natalie while Dr Shah is away, called with Natalie's bone marrow aspirate results. There is NO Leukemia cells!!! Oh we are so happy! So very thankful.

Natalie will have blood work the end of the month again, and then in June she'll see Dr Shah again. She'll see him every other month, and we can just go to Three Hills for her monthly blood work. It almost feels relaxing! 😌

Natalie's been fighting a cold off and on for quite a few weeks now. She's been home now for most of last week with a cold, fever, and ear ache. She does feel abit better than she did last week, but not quite good enough to go back to school yet. We're sure hoping that'll change here one of these days.

We feel very thankful to God that He answered our prayers again for Natalie's healing. We also want to thank you all so very much for helping us pray for her. The touches from everyone, have helped make this path a little easier to walk.
We will always be grateful for Natalie's team at ACH. What they do is nothing short of amazing, and they will always have a special place in our hearts.
