Nan’s Story

Site created on October 4, 2023

Dear Family, Friends and Love ones of Nan M. Nicolle,

On Sept. 28, Nani wasn't feeling quite like her sporty pickle-ball playing self so David visited her. Later In the evening , the granddaughter of Nan's dear friend (Sue Neff)  noticed that she didn't pick up her malt from Snuffy's malt shop. So she decided to make a special delivery finding mom in some distress, a true divine intervention for her family.  Ned wound up taking her to Methodist Hospital. While there into the late night, they learned that she had a tumor in her brain. On Monday, Oct. 2, she had a biopsy procedure so that doctors could run some tests to determine the molecular nature of the tumor. As the doctors suspected, it is a Glioblastoma.

On Oct. 9, Nan had her first appointment with the Neuro-oncologist that confirmed the diagnosis.  Nan is currently staying with her son (Ned & Molley) while many family and friends are visiting. She is talking a lot about all of her special friends at WCC, her pickle ball competitors, and her wonderful neighbors. She is so thankful for all the texts, phone calls, conversations, and visits. She even enjoyed going to church on Oct. 9 at WCC.

The days ahead bring the planning of some visits to Methodist for radiation and trying some chemotherapy.  Nan is open to visits or maybe even a car ride to see the fall leaves changing color. Please call, text, or email Dave or Ned if you'd like to plan a visit.

She continues to find strength in her enduring relationship with Christ.

For now, this is the current chapter in Nan's novel. Stay tuned and we'll keep you updated as she travels through the treatment and reflects on all the wonderful people in her life. Lovingly, Ned, Molley, Dave and Jenny Bruce
