Journal entry by Dianne Andrews —
I am definitely moving easier and have a sense that some in between layer is being filled in where only gaps and very raw nerve pain previously existed. I am sleeping better and longer, including on my sides and abdomen which is wonderful, because I have been unable to do that for months. Likewise, I am doing well with less pain medication which helps me feel more like myself all the way around!
I am so grateful for all the wonderful meals and kindnesses people have brought! I feel loved, nurtured, and supported. I know this is a long journey with several different treatment modalities ahead, but for right now I am enjoying being allowed to just concentrate on healing from the back surgery and regaining strength.
I think we can taper off having people bring meals in. As I am more mobile I will enjoy the exercise of walking with a cart and looking at what is available in the market. This is good for me to do. I would still very much appreciate visits and encouragement, and if folks want to bring something maybe a bottle or 2 of diet tonic water, because those weigh a lot and take up my weight limit for a trip up and down the stairs.
With Love and Gratitude,
Nancy
