We're just past Thanksgiving and the Sophian's have much to be thankful for this year.  Nancy has stabilized and is doing well these past few months.  Jason has been home with us over Thanksgiving and we've had a great week plus together.  He's been doing great and we're happy to have him spend some time with us without medical evaluations, consultations and surgeries.  

We're also happy to report that we've heard from, been in touch with and yesterday met with Nancy's donor.  So let me introduce you to our wonderful donor Kathy and her husband Kevin.  Kathy is the good semaritan who wanted to donate because she has the gift of health and wanted to pay it forward after helping Kevin in his battle with cancer and his recovery.  It's quite an uplifting story; I won't go into all the details that led her to make this monumental decision, but we are certainly so fortunate that she did.

They are a wonderful couple and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with them yesterday.  I met Kevin on the day of surgery in the family waiting room; he joined our group while we waited and from our conversation, I had a feeling that Kathy may in fact be Nancy's donor.  We weren't sure until recently when she decided she was ready and NW reached out to us to connect us with them.  And we're particularly happy that we were able to get with them this week while Jason was home and able to share the experience with us.

We feel like we expanded our family yesterday and will definitely continue to stay in touch and enjoy our new friendship with Kathy and Kevin.
