Journal

Hey everyone - thank you all for the ways you are seeing Dave and I through these weeks.   We continue to be grateful to each of you.

Had a great appointment with my nutritionist today - we are working on food things that I can be doing as part of my integrative health plan to make my treatment journey easier. Its kind of fun for me to ask stump the professional - and I had a couple of those today with ideas that others have shared with me as I explore ways to get my body to heal.

The meeting with the medical oncologist today lead to the decision to hold off chemo one week to give my body another week to heal from surgery.   My surgeon felt that this would be the wisest choice and that healing for another week will help me feel better through chemo - so chemo will wait until NEXT week.   (Still Tuesday).   Other good news was that we talked more about timing of chemo and surgery - (which will largely depend on my body's response to chemo and scans to see if the chemo is doing its job).   I will have at least 4 rounds of chemo before surgery, possibly 6.

Liver spread (metastasis) remains the top priority and making sure we don't have more spread....

Dr Rojan was very optimistic (and at the same time realistic).   He believes that we can get this cancer and get me to NED (no evidence of disease).   He did say with the plan and "a little luck" (aka - prayer and divine intervention!) that we can get to NED - and hopefully STAY there!     That felt good to hear - of course he was realistic too that we can't say that will happen for sure, but prognosis could be good.

So - prayers for continuing to heal this week; prayers that I will start to get some exercise in (chemo with exercise will make chemo side effects less); prayers that I can catch up on work - I feel so far behind!

Gratitude for friends that are walking the journey with us; Dave for adding turmeric to EVERY meal lol (and lots of other good support!); Dr's working together and communicating together about my treatment; Our AFM family stepping up and taking on anything and everything that's needed.

One of my friends from choir days sent this to me written based off of Psalm 121- "I lift up mine eyes" - https://youtu.be/bdZ6Mw4IE34?si=7mrNUg2oMBvwQSp_   (I'm not in this choir, but this is the version of the song we sang in a summer choir group I was in)
