Sign In to Show Your SupportLast night, shortly before midnight, my mother's corageous fight ended. On her terms ... of course.
A little over a week ago, things took a turn and for the first time she became in pain. We worked to keep her comfortable and hoped that it would be another comeback. She never wanted this to be drawn out and our time with her was so much longer that we had ever prayed for. Breathing was becoming harder and the pain persisted.
After meeting with the hospice nurse on Monday and some hard conversations she knew that she was ready. We had a great day on Tuesday and she sat outside and made some last visits. She got to say all her good-byes. Yesterday, she decided it was time to let go of her oxygen as well. It was her choice. She was brave and beautiful. I know in my heart that my dad was thier waiting, with his some smart ass comment about 'what took you so long'.
Details will follow soon regarding her celebration of life next week. We would love for you to share pictures or memories you have.
Thank you for your love, support and patience during this difficult time.
