Nancy’s Story

Site created on May 8, 2020

In 2009 I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease -PSC (Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis, a rare liver disease that damages the bile ducts inside and outside the liver). It has now progressed to my getting fast tracked on the Liver Transplant list. This can normally be a long wait, but I am an over-achiever and already in the top 5-10% of the list. Now I wait for the “call” which will come at anytime of the day or night from an unknown number. In the era of Covid-19, I will not have visitors during my stay at the UofM hospital!

This site will attempt to keep you informed of my journey along this life changing path.

Journal entry by Nancy Dahl

One year post transplant this last week!  Down another rejection pill.  Dr. Lake says everything looks good, but I should eat less.  (He likes to say they spend 3 months telling people to eat, and the next 9 months telling them not to!)
I celebrated with family & friends on Sunday, where the forecasted rain never showed up on top of our tents!  We were all fully vaccinated and be able to gather like old times ( or as we say during the first liver years)!
Sharing a few photos of the day.
Thanks again for all the prayers & support!!
