Journal
Yay... the sunshine has returned after more than a week of constant rain. No-mow May was not possible! I've had much improved energy levels most days, and am thankful for the times that I can get outdoors and spruce up the yard. It's a continuous challenge to keep weeds out of the flower beds. Some of the plants, especially lily of the valley, peonies, rose bushes, and lilac bushes, have been here for decades and were sorely in need of thinning and/or pruning. Small steps are starting to show rewards. Then I do crazy things like plant tomatoes and herbs. Let's see if I can grow more than just lettuce this year.
I had a lovely Memorial Day weekend that included attending the American Legion brat fry/bake sale, selling poppies, and attending the ceremony at the Ohio Cemetery. And today I got to meet my penpal from Glen Stephens school. We've been corresponding the entire school year. What a hoot!
So... it's time for a nap... or maybe some knitting on the front porch!
