On November 30th, 2018 my sweet daughter Nadi had her closure surgery for her belly. The doctors gave us a prediction of one week in the hospital and that is exactly what it was. We went in for the surgery and it went really well the general surgeon was able to do a full closure the incision was longer because there was a lot of scar tissue they had to go through but it really looks amazing. The plastic surgeon that helped with her heart surgery helped with this one as well he was able to give her a beautiful belly button. Nadi was intubated for the surgery and was going to be intubated through that same night but she is super hard to sedate and they couldn’t find the combination that would work for her so she just kept thrashing around causing harm to her air way so they took it out. She did great for about 24 hours after but then we got a big scare. Nadi’s air way got so tight she wasn’t able to get the air she needed into her left lung and it collapsed. They had to rush to reintubate her. That was a scare to mom and dad we watched as her oxygen went down to the teens and with that left lung collapsed she had no reserves making even trying to bag her didn’t work to get the oxygen up. Let’s just say I never want to go through that again it was the first time that I ever during this whole journey cried in front of the doctors or nurses. After one day of the intubation after paralyzing her and putting her on ketamin because nothing else would sedate her she was able to get that tube back out. She started to heal so fast after that and by the end of the week we where able to go home. She is doing so amazing and her belly is healing so well she crawled this week and she is pulling up on things all the way to her feet too. This should have been her last surgery we are so greatful for how well she is doing she is just a beautiful healthy baby girl!
