Keegan’s Story

Site created on October 3, 2022

Welcome the Murphy Family's CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. Keegan was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer in late September 2022. He is a warrior and the best teammate anyone could ever have. With Alissa and his kids at his side, he is putting everything he possibly can into the fight ahead.  Now and throughout this journey your words of hope and encouragement are incredibly meaningful and truly appreciated.

We have also created a GiveSendGo fundraising campaign for Keegan. GiveSendGo is similar to GoFundMe but is built on Christian principles. You can find his GiveSendGo campaign here:  https://www.givesendgo.com/keeganmurphy

Lastly, please set aside some time to familiarize yourself with the mission of the Hunter Seven Foundation and share it with someone you know who deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan, or somewhere else throughout the world:  https://hunterseven.org/

Latest Update:

I was up walking the night of my surgery, and discharged yesterday, 3 days after major surgery at MD Anderson.  God is great!!!  By God’s hands, my surgeon was able to perform a miracle.  It was a very lengthy and difficult procedure!  Way more I depth than she initially expected.

My surgeon and her team are simply amazing!  She said it’s a testament to the great shape I came into surgery with, that my body was able to undergo what it did and now recover in the fashion it is.  I'm a little winded and tired, which is to be expected.  But I’m up and about and just got back from Sprouts to get some food!  My appetite is back in full swing, vegan/keto/Longevity Diet.

As of right now I have a couple post-op appointments on Thursday, and my sister and I are scheduled to fly home on Saturday.

Don’t ever give up!

One day at a time, ALWAYS forward….  🤙🏼

Much love,

Keegan
