Journal

In September Morgan started Pre- K. The first week was rough for a girl who thrives on structure and routine and doesn't do well with change. After the first week of getting into a new routine she is now very excited to go to school and loves to learn and be with her friends.

In the middle of September we got her neurostudy results. For the most part she is on track for her age except for language skills and what they describe as the post note it in the brain. They suggested that we add more services for Morgan at school and to keep monitoring how she does in school.

At the end of September she learned to ride her bike with no training wheels!

The month of October was busy. We met with Dr. Paulson a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist. Morgan has mild cerebral palsy.  She suggested that we continue with physical, occupational and speech therapy.  Morgan got fitted for chipmunks shoe inserts that will hopefully help with her gait stability. Dr. Paulson also referred us to the pain clinic to find helpful ways to help manage her pain.

We met with her neurologist and are going to keep medications the same due to Morgan not having a seizure for a month!! As she grows we will adjust dosages as needed.

Morgan also went and saw the eye doctor in Fargo and got a great report. Her eyes are doing great!

Morgan continues enjoying things like gymnastics, riding her bike, and being outside. This time of year is her favorite because its deer hunting season. She got to go sit in the stand with mom on opener and she absolutely loved it along with going with both of us on the last weekend.  We also celebrated World Prematurity Day by wearing our purple.

Morgans attitude is positive and she is truly living her story. Morgan knows her limits and when she needs to take breaks. Some days she has some set backs but we keep telling her when you get knocked down you just get back up and keep going.

We greatly appreciate all the thoughts, prayers and support especially from our church community, Fire Department,  our friends and co workers.  Along with everyone who is saving pop tops for the Ronald McDonald house.
