Monte Poague suffered a hemorrhagic stroke over last weekend and is currently in the hospital. We are putting together this site to provide regular updates on his condition. Please refer back to for what we hope are regular updates to keep everyone advised on his current condition. As a general starting point he is currently in ICU and they are controlling his blood pressure and keeping his insulin in check. At some point today we will be making a decision if the ventilator tube will be taken out of him to have him breathe on his own. The doctors advised us that when a person suffers from a stroke it incapacitates one of the vocal cords and causes problems for the patient when they try to cough or breath. They want to make sure after removing the tube that this will not be an issue and we followed the advisement to wait until to today to review some more scans. He has had a lot of visitors, and has been conscious, opening his eyes and able to squeeze hands. Again, please refer back here in a couple hours and we will hopefully have some more updates for you!
