Sorry we haven’t posted since we left the hospital. We’ve just been relaxing and resting up. 😊
Today we had a follow-up appointment in Paducah. The doctor said the Leptospirosis test came back negative. All the other tests have come back negative too. The doctors thought there was something else going on besides the hypothermia and sepsis but so far nothing has been pinpointed. The doctor said, “In med school we learned that if you hear hoof beats, think horses, not zebras. In your case tho, it was zebras.”
Monica gets a little frustrated at the pain behind her knees. Standing still has been nearly impossible. Things like watering her houseplants became a painful chore. It has gotten some better already. We are so thankful it doesn’t bother her when she’s walking or laying down.
She lost 17 lb in the last 2 weeks. 😩 She is consuming a LOT of fruits and veggies. Protein isn’t as appealing at the point. The only other symptom left is the red eyes. She’s still on antibiotics so maybe they will clear up yet.
Today Monica made up a snack basket to give all her wonderful nurses on the 3rd floor of the hospital. She was so excited about seeing them again. What do you know? The front desk people wouldn’t let her up because she wasn’t a patient anymore. 🤦🏻♀️ We were just standing there by the exit door trying to decide what to do with our basket of goodies, when who should appear beside us but our security guy “angel”!! He said “they won’t let you up? I’ll take you there myself!” And he escorted her to the 3rd floor with her basket. 🥰
All in all, Monica is doing amazingly well! We marvel! And we thank God for miracles. ♥️
