Molly’s Story

Site created on February 18, 2021

Molly and Cabell are so thankful for your love, support, prayers, meals, and offers to help them in other ways over the coming months as she approaches treatment for Hodgkin's Lymphoma.  This site will help them communicate their journey and invite you to specific prayer requests they may have.  They recognize that God has blessed them richly with an amazing family and a large community of friends -- they are thankful for you all.  It may be difficult to respond to your emails, calls, letters, and texts while balancing treatment, normal busy life, and rest/quiet, which they know if important for healing.  This site will be a resource for you to  communicate with them, share your love and support, and for them to keep you informed about their lives without communicating with all of you individually, which is what they would really love to do but recognize that it will be impossible.  Thank you for joining them in their cancer fight and praying with them to trust God.

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."  -Joshua 1:9

Side comment from Bradley:  To support Molly as she communicates with all of you is such an honor.  She created a similar site for me over a year ago.  I will never forget the blessing of reading friends' encouraging comments, knowing so many were in prayer for us, and feeling the freedom from worry that I was inadvertently leaving close loved ones out of the loop.  I will be supporting this site, but most of the journal entries will be in her own words.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Molly Childress

Praising God for a clear scan and good report from Dr. Ginder! The lymph nodes are stable or decreasing in size! A couple of incidental things showed up on the scan, like an enlarged spleen (likely from having had covid) and hernias (likely genetic for one and from my abdominal surgery for the other). Dr. Ginder will see me back in June in his clinic for an exam and visit, but we will not scan again until October, unless something comes up. He'd like me to leave my port in longer....that is standard protocol for the first year... it sure is a visual reminder (an ugly one at that!), but I will do what I'm told until further notice. :)

I am so so thankful. For life. Health. Increasing energy. Friends and family. And for Cabell...who comes with me to all these appointments, remains by my side and tells me he loves me all the time.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
