We had a long 11-12 hour day yesterday with visits to 2 different ER Departments. My feeding tube fell out for some unknown reason. It was 6am and I'm so thankful that Pat was still home. It was quite scary. The hole where the tube goes in can close within 2-3 hours so we rushed to the Princeton ER only 10 minutes away. We ended up spending an hour and a half there and they placed some kind of temporary catheter in the hole to keep the hole open. Princeton does not place feeding tubes and we were advised to go to the U of M. Luckily they let us drive ourselves instead of taking an ambulance. Pat and Princeton ER each called the "U" to let them know I was coming and that I needed a new feeding tube placed. A 20-30 minute procedure where I was awake the whole time. We ended up waiting 10 hours at the U of M ER in the waiting room. We saw a doctor in the triage room right when we got there, but the rest of the wait time was in the waiting room. Very frustrating! At least we had some entertainment with all the interesting people waiting at the same time.

It was nice that a doctor from my thoracic team came to check in on my. So... I have a new feeding tube and good news I may only have it for 2-3 more weeks if the soft foods go well and I don't lose any more weight. I also do not need to do the feedings anymore. I still take my medicine through the tube. I've been trying different foods everyday. It is going well, but most foods still taste weird/different.

I missed my second PT appt because of the ER visits yesterday. I'm still waiting to hear about occupational therapy for my neuropathy. My surgeon said it could last up to a year because of the type of surgery I had.

I still get tired and feel unmotivated, but trying to get my home therapy and walks in everyday. I've been taking less and less medication every week. I'm so ready to be back to myself. Although, when I look back to the last months, I've come a long way. Your support has really helped with this journey I am on! Thank You!!!
