December 17th I went to the ER at Mercy Hospital in CR….surrounded by angels. Felt like I was having a heart attack?? But knew it was not happening…staff responded fast went right to blood work and a cat scan

Results were immediate…Dr Katherine Peraud gave me the initial diagnosis. Lung cancer…What a tough assignment, I felt worse for her.

Within 20 minutes she had consulted with Dr Ann Stroh and I was seeing her that next week. Stage 4 Adenocarcinoma of the lung is my diagnosis

Some good news this week…a targeted drug RETEVMO that can treat this cancer🤞🤞🤞
This is where I will give permission for the Nurses in the family to update this once in a while

Many scans, MRI’s a lung biopsy and Dr appointments have happened, HALL PERRINE is a Godsend
Through the holiday season they made those appointments happen

All factual for now… staying positive as I can, surrounded by Love and prayers . Most importantly spending as much time with Family and staying as healthy as I can on this journey.

Ed is my fierce protector, we all know that❤️ Sarah, Dan , Drew ,Jessica and of course 🐰Audrey are my wall of strength!!

My siblings /relatives ♥️♥️♥️♥️ ….the BEST!!!

and all the friends we have made in this community… just thought you should know

Lots of work ( treatment) ahead and you are going to see me out in the community again… it’s really
Hard to keep a great IRISH woman down.

Enough for today

Newest Update

Journal entry by molly kempf

We're having a beautiful day in Iowa today, so good afternoon.

It's been a while since I checked in, so thought I would give you a quick update. My scans were this past Wednesday, April 3rd, and my blood work and meeting with Dr. Stroh were held on Friday, April 5th.

I received the scan report a few hours after the scans were performed. As a result, I was prepared.

Of course not what we were hoping for but I knew Dr Stroh would have a plan

Being referred to Mayo clinic for a good “going over”

That stinking cancer has woken up and rearing its ugly head.

Staying on my RETEVMO for now and waiting to hear there opinion.  I am feeling good just tired…major side effect but I am used to that…oh to be young again!!

Keep the prayers coming please
