Joshua 1:9
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."

Dear Friends and Family,

On September 12, 2008...three days before my 40th birthday... I had my annual mammogram in the University of Tennessee's Mobile Mammogram unit at Denso. On Tuesday, September 23rd, I received a letter in the mail stating that there was a "finding" on my mammogram and that I needed to schedule an appointment with the UT Breast Center for "diagnostic testing." The earliest appointment I could get was for October 9th. Many loving people gave me words of encouragement that it was probably nothing. On Thursday, Oct.9th, I had several more mammograms and an ultrasound performed by a radiologist. Her initial reaction was that, although the mass was very small, she didn't like what she saw and wanted to do a needle biopsy immediately. Later that day, I had the procedure done in the same office. I am thankful that the doctor was straightforward with me and told me to be prepared for some bad news when the pathology report came back. The next day around noon on Oct.10th, the doctor called and told me "Now, Mitzi.... I want you to stay calm... your biopsy results are back and you have tested positive for breast cancer." My world, my life and everything I'd known and been to that point would never be the same.
My family and I cling to the Lord Almighty... He is Yahweh Rapha, our God who heals. His will is perfect and He has, is and will forever direct our path.
We have been abundantly blessed with love and support from our friends, our church body, our family and even those we've never met. People all over the world are praying for us... and we feel it.
My prayer is that I will glorify the Lord through this... whatever is ahead of us on this journey. Jesus is with us (me, my family and you) every step of the way, as He always has been and will be forevermore.
Please continue to pray for us... Chris, myself and our precious children- Isabelle, Savannah and Benjamin.
I hope you'll sign our guest book, as it will help us feel your love... and be sure to check back often because we'll update the JOURNAL page whenever we have any news, such as sugery dates, treatment plans, and test results.

With tremendous love ....

Mitzi

P.S. God is good ALL the time....
