Mitch’s Story

Site created on June 4, 2023

When you visit this Caring Bridge page, the page itself will encourage you to make a voluntary donation to make sites like this possible. Please know that these kinds of donations support the mission of Caring Bridge and are not affiliated with our family in any way and the funds do not come to us.

This site will be used to provide updates on Mitch's road to recovery. After a serious motorcycle accident on May 29, he suffered multiple injuries. He was helicoptered to Barnes Hospital in St Louis on the day of the accident and after 52 days in the hospital, he arrived home on July 19. While most of his fractures are healing well, he is still dealing with a serious burn on the sole of his foot that prevents him from walking right now. We are hopeful to see good progress with that during the month of August.

Journal entry by Lisa Scott

Can't overlook the chance to come here and say Merry Christmas to all of you who have supported our family along the way this year. I honestly don't know how we would have made it without family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and acquaintances who care.

Our lives feel back to normal these days, and we are forever grateful for Mitch's healing, recovery and the widespread support we received in 2023. It could be very different for us this holiday season, and we are very aware of that reality. We'll celebrate with all the kids at home, and share our grandson's first Christmas together. We'll have the hectic pace of a full house, but our hearts will be full as well.

     Merry Christmas!
