Journal entry by Misti Solomon —
Went back for my 3 week meet with the oncologist today. We are moving on to the next phase of treatment to help prevent a recurrence in the future. I'll be on Lynparza for a year to combat the BRCA 1 mutation, Arimidex for 10 years to combat the hormone receptors that my cancer had, and Prolia shots for 10 years to combat the bone loss issues associated with the hormone drug. I'll see the oncologist monthly for blood work to make sure my whites and reds are ok (BRCA meds mess those up). Still more tests to come and years of treatment medications to go, but praise God we are moving on from chemo!
She said it will take 6 months to get back to myself (strength, energy, and stamina), but that's alright. We are moving forward and not backwards. Thank you for all of your prayers over the last 5 months (yup, it's only been 5 months). Keep them coming as we enter this next phase of treatments and monitoring.
