Missy’s Story

Site created on July 24, 2018

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate you. Missy was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer in December of 2015, and she has fought bravely for 2+ years. Over the past several months she stopped responding to her treatment and has declined chemotherapy. She has expressed her strong desire to remain at home, comfortable, and with family for her final chapter.

Journal entry by Caroline Nobo Sarnoff

It is with a heavy heart I share the news that our sweet friend and mother passed away on Wednesday evening, August 8th, 2018. She was surrounded by her family and in peace. We deeply miss her. Her obituary will run in the Saturday Lawrence Journal World (http://warrenmcelwain.com/obituary/14683/).

Services are Monday, August 13th, at 3:00pm at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. A reception at the Oread Hotel will follow from 5-7:00pm.

If you are interested in sending flowers, please contact Warren-McElwain. If you'd like to contribute to a memorial for Missy, we are planting a tree at the Lawrence Arboretum with a bench and your support is welcome.

Missy asked to be cremated and that her ashes scattered by her three children.
