Journal entry by Melissa Homolka —
A thank you to MY people!
It has been a tough 7 months and yes there is still more to come but we are making the best of it. WE can almost see the light, only 2 more weeks of chemo.
This family of mine, they are amazing! Oh, and to my staff and dear friends this goes for you too!
So,
Thank you for never checking out. Thank you for holding my hand. Thank you (for one of the hardest days for all of us)shaving my head. Thank you for telling me we will get through this and lying to me about how beautiful I am as I struggle with the “look” of Cancer. Thank you for forehead kisses and rides to dr appointments.Thank you for wearing your Missy Strong shirts every Thursday I head for treatment. I guess thank you for loving me just the same.
I am sorry for the days I am irritable and frustrated , as I know you all get tired too. I am sorry for the days it’s hard to muster up a smile or a positive attitude. I’m sorry every conversation always turns into something about my health, as all of you are important as well! I’m sorry life isn’t just a little bit more fair.
Please know your strength on this journey has carried me on my weakest of days! Better tomorrows lie ahead!
Love to you all
Missy
