Marin’s Story

Site created on January 22, 2018

At four days old Marin had surgery on her intestines and was diagnosed with Jejunal Atresia Type IIIB, one of the more severe types of Atresias. We will use this site to keep friends and family updated. Thank you for your love and support.

Journal entry by Marissa McDonald

Because Marin’s cystic fibrosis test results came back intermediate again we were referred to a pulmonologist to talk about what to do next. The pulmonologist would like to see Marin again in three months and do another sweat test then. Her “suspicion is low” that Marin has CF but she still wants to follow her regularly. If Marin’s test does not come back negative the next time it’s done then Marin will have additional testing done and we will meet with a geneticist. It is believed that the older Marin is the more accurate the sweat test result will be. We’re continuing to enjoy our summer and following up with labs and weight checks regularly.
