Journal entry by Diane Ourso —
Day +22
The day started off with bad news. The MRI showed the lesions on his brain had progressed rapidly and were already causing swelling and spreading. The virus was just too much of a beast to contain. We changed from an all out assault with medicine that was not effective to comfort care.
Milton passed away at 10:02 pm today. The very day he was supposed to complete his hospital stay for the bone marrow transplant. He definitely fought the good fight and is now pain free in his heavenly home.
Trey and I extend our heartfelt gratitude to each of you for your support and prayers throughout Milton’s transplant journey.
