Milo’s Story

Site created on November 18, 2019

Milo was badly injured in a freak car accident with two close friends on Saturday November 16, 2019 several hours east of San Rafael. While his friends were not badly hurt, Milo suffered significant head trauma. He was airlifted to a hospital and is currently in Intensive Care.
Emergency surgery was largely successful and he is heavily sedated to make him comfortable to promote healing.

We will provide updates as frequently as possible so that friends and loved ones can stay involved and supportive.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family with medical expenses.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Jennifer Manetta & Shad Tomlinson

Milo's surgery went well today!

The bone flap from his original emergency operation was put back in place and it fit nicely (which isn't always the case). There is some titanium mesh holding things in place and Milo is recovering. They also removed his tracheostomy, which is a big step and a big relief.

Milo will be under observation for a few days and if all goes as planned, may come home as early as mid-next week.

At that point, he will do outpatient rehab 3xweek for a while.

We're getting there! Thank you again for all the support.
