Hi everyone! So sorry I am just now updating everyone 😬

My mom is responding INCREDIBLY well to the chemo treatments! She is so resilient and her body has proven to be SO strong! I am honestly shocked at how well she has been feeling, both physically and emotionally. They give Milll four different anti-nausea meds prior to the chemo infusions. And then once she is home, she takes two anti-nausea meds for 3 days and a third medicine is as needed. My mom joined a support group on Facebook and that has really helped too! She has gotten some great advice and learned a lot from the women in that group.

She noticed that the larger lump in her breast (that is the Triple Negative tumor, the more aggresive cancer of the two different types she has) felt smaller after her FIRST round of chemo! The oncologist and the breast surgeon both confirmed that the tumor has indeed shrunk! Dr. Moore even said that he couldn't feel the tumor. We were VERY thankful and excited to hear this wonderful news!!!!
Dr. Moore said he would most likely schedule the double masectomy for about a month after she finishes treatment. If all goes well and there isn't a need to postpone any treatments, (this would most likely happen if her blood counts were too low or she were to get a fever or illness) her last chemo will be on Friday, 5/13. So surgery will most likely be sometime in June.

On Thursday, March 3, I took my mom to meet with a genetic counselor at Fox Chase Cancer Center. They asked a LOT of questions and wrote down all of our family history. It was wild to see all of the cancer our family has encountered, over three generations... really sad.
Milli decided to have blood work done. This will test 35 hereditary panels to see if there is a genetic component to the breast cancer she has. The most well known gene mutation is called the BRCA. We should have those results in about 2 weeks.

This past Friday, March 4, my mom had her third round of chemo. Only 5 more left!!!!
The first four rounds are Adriamycin and Cytoxan. Rounds five through eight will be Paclitaxel.
Fox Chase just changed their visitor policy and now someone can sit with her, in the infusion center, while she receives the chemo.

Thank you all for your prayers, texts, FB comments, phone calls, etc.! We appreciate all of your support!
