Journal entry by Mike Stallings —
Hello to friends and family. Sorry for not posting sooner, but its been the same for several days now.
I am improving every day from my surgery. It's been almost a month now and doing well. First post surgery visit to the cardiologist was yesterday. Got a good report. Chest x-rays showed no fluid in the lungs and the EKG was great. They actually reduced some of my meds. Going to set up to see a local cardiologist for further follow up visits and to set up cardio rehab.
Dianne has been the ultimate caregiver, as has my daughter Melissa and son Michael. Of course the grand kids have provided an abundance of hugs. That's good medicine. Their support as well as yours has been so important in this journey.
This post will likely close out the CaringBridge site. From this point forward, I anticipate lost of walking, eating better, and looking forward to normalcy in activities and energy levels. I am also looking forward to seeing you in the near future. I am so thankful for the blessings of having friends, caring family, and all of you who have expressed encouragement and offered prayers, phone calls, messages, and a few visits. Some have provided wonderful meals. I want you to know that it means so much to me. Thank you all from the bottom of my newly renovated heart.
With gratitude and love,
Mike
