Mike’s Story

Site created on September 29, 2021

My dad is my best friend in the world. He's my hero. Always has been. Always will be. Every day he teaches me what it means to be a man, and I couldn't ask for a better role model. I know, without a doubt, that I am not alone in this. Apparently every hero needs a villain. He's got one. All summer, he's been dealing with tremendous pain in his neck and back. We got him a lotion, and upon applying it for the pain he found a lump in his chest. Turns out it wasn't his joints. On September 22, Dad was diagnosed with breast cancer.  Since then, we have found out it has metastasized to his liver and lymph nodes, as well as a couple other places.
This is a villain, but my dad is a hero. He's going to fight it, and he's not going to be alone. If he's my hero, I'm his side-kick and we're gonna fight the hell out of this thing. I know I'm not alone in my love for him. This is a page for all my follow sidekicks to follow my hero's journey and join the fight with us. Stay up to date, and share your thoughts and prayers with us. My dad is strong. He's shared his strength with us countless times. Let's return the favor.

Mighty Mike is getting closer in his journey. The Faculty and Staff at Chaminade are joining together at 3:00 today to pray the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy. We will be joining them in prayer from home. We welcome anyone who would like to and is able to pause in their day for 10 minutes to join us wherever you are at 3:00. This is not a telecast or zoom, but prayer in spirit with us.
