Journal entry by Terra Roth

Monday Mike and I headed to Rochester for his 3 month follow up with the surgeons and some additional scans to see how he’s doing.
Monday we had to go in 3 hours before his bone scan for an injection of the contrast, and then he had a full body bone scan to make sure that there was no more cancer anywhere in his bones since Chordoma is technically classified as a bone cancer.
Tuesday morning he was back to the campus bright and early for a hand MRI, and then a chest CT and then an updated hand X-ray.  After lunch we got to meet with the surgeons.

Dr. Rose came in with the amazing news that all the scans were clear and he is still cancer free!!   Dr. Moran was very excited to learn that Mike has barely had any phantom pain and just minimal phantom feelings in the missing fingers.   He said that they planned the surgery to make sure that he didn’t have phantom pain and that he would have as much strength in his wrist as was possible.   It was successful!
He also gave him a referral for a prosthesis when and if he’s ready to walk down that road.

He’s doing so well.  The wound is completely healed, he graduated from hand therapy, and the surgeons said to go out and live his life and do anything he wants too.   So we are!  ❤️

The highlight of our trip besides the words “CANCER FREE!” was the picture of the updated hand X-ray that they allowed Mike to take!

Thank you for all your prayers and love.  We couldn’t walk down this road without your love and support.  ❤️
