Hello and Happy New Year. As many of you know, Mike was taken from the ICU to a general floor. He is continuing to make progress each day. He was pretty excited to be able to eat a burger one day but after a small hiccup, his future burgers will now be served a little more on the soft food diet side of things. He has walked with 2 person assistance, gave some nurses hell, and others his amazing hugs. The plan is to try and find placement for him to rehab/more intensively. It’s very important for TBI(traumatic brain injury), to get specialized care and therapies for optimal outcomes. So far this place sounds to be in the twin cities/metro area. He is able to speak by telephone and obviously letters/cards of encouragement will be greatly appreciated. Also, the financial strains and burdens for this family are mounting and will continue to be a part of this difficult situation.
