Newest Update

Journal entry by Mike Lyman

Hello everyone,
Well it has been almost 2 weeks since my last post. So today, I have 2 updates. First, I had an appointment with my heart surgeon to make sure there was no damage to my pacemaker/internal defibrillator device from the radiation. He was really happy with the outcome and also happy on how well I am doing. He gave me the green light and I can do anything I want now. Golf, exercise, golf, and probably golf sometime. Lol. I was pretty happy with his report. See him in 1 year.

Next was my oncologist for my throat cancer. She was also very impressed on how well I handled the treatments. Both chemo and radiation. I have about 6 weeks before my next CT scan so they can let me know if the cancer cells are dead. I can really tell the cell has gotten softer and gotten a lot smaller. She did say the bump I do feel is probably scare tissue but the chemo and radiation are still in my body and will keep attacking that area in my neck.

So, two good reports today. Golf is in my future, and my tastebuds are so going to get abused. Probably a couple months away from that. So I am hoping May or June. All I know is, I am glad I have the feeding tube for another 12 weeks at least. I am down 37 lbs. as of this morning. Maybe another 10 to go but, I hope not as that weight does not look good on me.

Thanks for checking in on me. I want to thank all of you for your prayers and well wishes. You have no idea what that meant for me and helped me thru these treatments. I have a couple more appointments for other things but those are not as in-depth as what I just went thru.  I will update when I get my scan results back. Maybe post a picture of me doing cartwheels. I said maybe. 🤣🤣

Love to all,
Mike
