Yesterday was the day, Dad finished radiation!! 4 rounds of Chemo and 25 treatments of Radiation. He is so happy to not have to drive down to Rochester. He’s still feeling fatigued and trouble with eating, but otherwise he is in good spirits.
The next steps have slightly changed. We will go down to Rochester June 13 for bloodwork, scans and we will meet with all his doctors. Then on June 14 the plan is for dad to have surgery. We don’t know yet what will be removed with surgery but since dad’s case is so rare and aggressive we are prepared for dad to lose his stomach, or his esophagus or parts of both. We will hopefully have a better idea after his appointment on June 13. In the meantime I know my dad would love to hear from you all. Feel free to text him at 612-202-0818. Texting is best as phone calls get overwhelming for him.
His plans these next few weeks are relaxing, spending time with family and taking in a race or two and Twins game.
