On July 1st 2020, Mike was rushed by ambulance to the hospital near Mike & Diane’s condo in Fort Myers with a 104 fever and extreme weakness.
He was diagnosed with sepsis.
In the following days, he suffered disorientation and internal bleeding, which they were able to successfully stop.
Septic shock followed which negatively impacted many of his vital organs, especially his kidneys and liver. The damage to his liver is irreparable.
Unfortunately following his endoscopy and clamping of internal bleeding, he didn’t wake up from the sedation.
We are anticipating having to say goodbye to Mike in the next couple of days and I, his daughter in law Katharine, have created this site at Diane’s request to keep everyone updated.
