Mike’s Story

Site created on June 18, 2021

Mike Duer was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. He has always been the caretaker, the “one to the rescue”, the fixer. It’s time to rally the troops and support him during this difficult battle ahead.

Newest Update

Journal entry by melissa regner

November has turned out to be quite a good month. Dad has been going back to work and enjoying some normalcy again. On November 6th, he celebrated his birthday with his family. On November 11th, he welcomed his granddaughter Nancy Sue, who has already stolen his heart.
On the 12th, he has a bone marrow biopsy done to check if any cancer was present. These types of tests the whole family just holds their breath and hopes and pays for good news… today we got that good news. NO CANCER PRESENT! Praise God!
Dad and his family are so thankful this Thanksgiving season for the endless support, prayers, and positive thoughts from everyone. We will continue to update as needed but for now… we can take a big sigh of relief that Dad has been cured from Leukemia.
