August 3rd 1991, it was a saturday. If your a longtime journal reader you may remember that that's the day Michelle and I went out on our first date. I had a tough time getting her to go out with me. I wasn't exactly smooth.... Michelle was the only girl I ever had more that a thirty second phone conversation with and the only girl I ever took home. The highest complement Michelle ever gave me was to trust me. She trusted me enough to go out with me and then, a week or so later, I told her that I loved her. You know what she said? She said "that's nice". I was so afraid I had blown it but the next day she trusted her heart to me and told me that she loved me too! She trusted me again a week or so after that, when she agreed to marry me, and again, on November 16th when she said "I do". For the next 21 years, she trusted me through it all, houses, cars, moving, babies, cancer... right up to her last moments of conciseness, she trusted me... her trust in me was the crowning achievement in my life and I tried so hard to be worthy of her trust. The girls trust me, Michelle trusted me to raise them, and that's my treasure.

Marriage is a picture of Christ and the Church and God has taught me so much about that, during Michelle's and my marriage, but the biggest thing I am taking away from the experience is that I am going to trust Him!
