Journal entry by Trish Hendricks —
My dad, brothers and I have spend the last two days getting things ready for my mom’s funeral, which I prefer to call a celebration of her life. Mom suffered a lot of loss in her lifetime and yet she stepped into each day with determination to do what was best and take care of her family. That is why I will do the same. If I had a nickel for every time someone told us that we looked alike and how much I am like her….I’d be very rich!! My mom was my best friend.
We will have a visitation on Thursday evening at the funeral home for those who work and cannot come to the funeral on Friday morning. Friday will be incredibly hard so we will lean on our family and friends to hold us up. All who knew mom or want to be there to support dad, Mike, Joe and I will be so very much appreciated. We will be serving a lunch after her service and then will go to the beautiful cemetery at Holy Name where mom will be buried.
Thank you to each of you who have loved, supported, encouraged and prayed for mom and our family. Not one small gesture has been overlooked. We feel incredibly blessed and we love you all. From the bottom of my heart….thank you!
