Journal entry by Brian Schraufnagel

Hello everyone, that bittersweet day we have all been praying for has finally arrived. Wednesday night Michelle was finally called up to be an Angel to start watching over all of us. Several family members stopped by earlier in the day. Her sister Robyn was over so I could do some errands and get ready for Kate coming back. I told her that Michell's breathing has changed. For the last 2 days it was more of a heavier mouth breathing.  She was now breathing real shallow and peaceful. Like she has been this entire time. Then her breathing stopped of a long pause like she held her breath. She then let out a big exhale. Robyn and I look at each other like that was a long one. Then she was gone. Very Peaceful.

Michelle has so much love for everyone and through this entire journey she has always said for people to "Live your best life".  Life will bring you the unexpected and you can't wait around to do the things you dream of doing.  She has always encouraged people to make changes you are afraid of, go on that adventure you been putting off, change jobs if you're unhappy. Dating was one of her favorite topics for her single friends. Take the chance on someone different than your typical.

She will be watching over you and will be right by your side as you "Live your best."

Instead of a traditional funeral service Michelle wanted to have a "Celebration of Life" gathering in several weeks. She wants people to have happy memories of her with good stories and laughter.

I appreciate all the love, prayers and support that everyone has given us over the past couple months and 2 plus years since Michelle started on this path.

Michelle will be greatly missed and will be sad not to have her physical presence with us. She has been praying for this day and I know she is truly happy and blessed!
